Customers — Permissions

Overview

This page documents the permissions used in the Customers feature. Permissions determine which screens a user can access and which actions are available within them.

Permissions by transaction

Permission Grants access to
view Access the Customers screen and browse the full customer list. Required for all other access.
edit Create new customers; open and save the full edit form; activate and deactivate customers; open the per-customer Client Metrics modal; and link customers to external integrations (Freshbooks).
client metrics Open and manage the global Client Metrics catalog (metric definitions, multipliers, and global score recalculation). Also required to interact with reliability sliders in the per-customer metrics modal when the customer is in partial information (PAIN) status.

Note

The edit permission controls all write actions, including status transitions and the per-customer metrics modal. The client metrics permission controls the global catalog and unlocks metric editing for partial information customers specifically.

For active (ACTV) customers, metric sliders are interactive for any user with edit. For partial information (PAIN) customers, sliders additionally require client metrics.


Examples

The exact mapping depends on your organization. These are typical patterns:

  • Sales / Commercial user

Troubleshooting access

  • If the Customers menu item is missing, confirm view is assigned.
  • If the + New Customer button is not visible, confirm edit is assigned.
  • If the Client metrics button at the top of the screen is missing, confirm client metrics is assigned.
  • If the Client metrics row action is missing for a customer, confirm edit is assigned.
  • If the sliders in the per-customer metrics modal are not interactive:
    • If the customer is inactive, reactivation is required before scoring.
    • If the customer is in partial information status, the client metrics permission is also required.
